Carlo Figà Talamanca is the CEO and Founder of OTAGO PTE. LTD. Carlo obtained a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Rome and started his professional career in the consulting business in Italy. In 2005, he moved to Boston, where he worked on international technology transfer projects between Europe, the United States, and Latin America. Since 2010, Carlo has been based in Cambodia, where in 2012 he started developing Khmer Green Charcoal (KGC), an award-winning social enterprise producing eco-friendly charcoal briquettes. Today, KGC is the largest and most successful char-briquettes factory in a developing country. As a consequence, in 2018 Carlo created OTAGO as the holding company of KCG. OTAGO is an engineering company that, thanks to the experience gained by KGC, is now building char-briquette factories around the world.
