Dr. Eng. Joseph Njoroge

Dr. Eng. Joseph Njoroge, CBS, was appointed to his current position of Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Energy and petroleum in May 2013 and became the PS in the State Department for Energy following re-organization of government in December 2015. He has wide experience in power engineering and management. Prior to his appointment as PS he was the Managing Director of Kenya Power and Lighting Company. Dr. Eng. Njoroge holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering, Master of Business Administration as well as a PhD both from the University of Nairobi’s School of Business with a major in strategic management. He is a Chartered Electrical Engineer, a member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology, UK, a Registered Consulting Engineer, and is also a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers of Kenya. He is also Chairman of the MBA Chapter of University of Nairobi Alumni Association.
