Biography

I am a Kenyan citizen, raised in the North Rift region of Kitale, educated in Kisumu, and employed and settled in Nairobi. I am currently the Sales Manager at LivelyHoods Kenya, an eight-year-old Nairobi- and Los Angeles-based social enterprise that trains youth and women from the slums to sell life-changing products (i.e., clean cookstoves) in their communities. I started with LivelyHoods as an intern in 2011 and over the last eight years have helped the organization grow from a start-up into a national social enterprise with 10 branches throughout Kenya. During that time, I was promoted from an intern into six different management roles. I currently directly oversee a team of five branch managers in the Nairobi and Eastern Kenyan regions. While at LivelyHoods, I have gained experience in all aspects of growing an organization, including business development, communications, project management, human resources, budgeting, and monitoring and evaluation.
