Franciscus Albrecht Makken

Franciscus Albrecht Makken has served as Dutch Ambassador in Kenya since 2015 and is permanent representative to the UN Office in Nairobi. He started his career at the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1994 covering several positions, such as Ambassador in Kigali, Dutch Representative at the Palestinian Authority in Ramallah, Permanent Representative to UNRWA, Replacement Chef de Poste in Hanoi, Coordinator of the Advisory Group Sectoral Approach and Inspector of Development Cooperation and Policy Evaluation. He holds a Bachelor’s in Economics and a Master’s in International Economic Relations from the University of Applied Sciences of Groningen.
