Jechoniah Kitala is the Consultancy Manager and Head of Energy Program at Practical Action East Africa. He brings a broad-based experience in the development of renewable energy technologies – notably biogas, pico solar PV, mini grids, clean cook stoves, and sustainable fuels. He has led teams of experts to develop and deliver services in energy and market systems development in Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Ethiopia. His fields of experience include capacity building of actors, stimulating demand through awareness creation and behavior change, supporting last mile distribution systems, and fostering an enabling environment.
Jechoniah is also the founding chair of the Clean Cooking Association of Kenya (CCAK), a sector association that represents the interests of members and stakeholders engaged in providing clean and efficient cooking solutions in Kenya.
